Rima Fakih was crowned Miss USA last May 16, 2010 becoming the first American woman with Arabic origin to ever win the contest. Prior to her crowning, Rimah has joined several smaller beauty contests and worked for Detroit Medical Center as a sales associate. She has a degree in Economics and Business Management and intends to pursue a law degree in the future. As a Muslim woman, there was a mixed reaction to her winning the title. Some are favorable, others are not. It will be an interesting time for Rima as she attempts to unite the common dreams of women not only in the US but in the Muslin world where she is for sure an inspiration. Could she pull it off? We can only guess. One thing is clear, Rima Fakih will make the USA proud as she represents the country in the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant.
